Patrick Jones was born and raised in Quinhagak, Alaska, where a subsistence lifestyle provided him with extensive hands-on experience in ocean and river navigation, wilderness safety, and mechanical repair. A self-taught mechanic, Patrick specializes in maintaining and repairing ATVs, outboards, snowmachines, and other essential equipment used in remote fieldwork. Over the years, he has served as a local lead and field guide, supporting partners and researchers in successfully planning and executing field projects from pre-deployment logistics through in-field implementation and completion. Patrick continues to expand his technical skills through multiple on-the-job training certifications and has successfully completed the Skydio drone course.
