Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience in principles of archeological field survey, excavation and data recording.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in project planning and field operations. Experience and knowledge of working with indigenous descendant communities. - Experience working in the environment and climatic conditions typical of rural Alaska.
- Sensitivity and awareness of the issues inherent in recovering human remains.
- Ability and willingness to work within the project health and safety guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Anthropology, or closely related field, with emphasis in archaeology required.
Preferred Requirements:
- Ability to set up and operate a total station.
- Alaska Native or Native American preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
