Archaeological Field Laborer

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work outdoors for 8 hours a day and lift buckets of soil and move
    field equipment weighing up to 45 pounds
  • Experience and knowledge of working with indigenous descendant
    communities in rural Alaska.
  • Experience working in the environment and climatic conditions typical of
    rural Alaska.
  • Sensitivity to the need for respectful recovery of human remains.
  • Ability and willingness to work within the project health and safety
    guidelines.
  • Ability to assist with cleaning and sorting of artifacts.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Alaska Native or Native American residents of Aniak, Alaska preferred, but all
    qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
